How Far Along: 30 weeks
Gender: Baby Girl
Weight Gain: 15 pounds. This number is pure luck. I started this pregnancy out planning to only eat the healthiest options and not let my pregnancy cravings be an excuse to eat whatever I want. I eliminated all coffee, tracked my water in-take, chose salad instead of potatoes, etc…. for about 3 weeks… I’m really going to put forth extra effort these last couple of months in planning a little better and getting on a better eating schedule, more or less to have the habits created and have a jump start on my postpartum recovery.
Maternity Clothes: Yes! I’m hoping to add a couple of Fall pieces, as it’s starting to cool off already in Iowa. I’m in short supply of sweatshirts, etc, but I have quite a few cardigans that are working great for now! I’m just such a sucker for leggings and tunics, so I have my eye out for any great deals that I can’t pass up!
Sleep: It’s been hit or miss this past week. I just keep telling myself that the frequent bathroom breaks are simply preparing me for what’s to come!
Movement: Like crazy, and all the time! I just can’t get enough of all the sweet little kicks 🙂
Cravings: Chicken Fried Steak. My husband is an extremely sensible and logical person, but he really doesn’t understand pregnancy cravings. Let’s just say there were tears shed over not having my chicken fried steak (the closest place to order any is 20 minutes away, and in hindsight he was probably right that it is unnecessary to make a special trip just for that). I’m patiently impatiently waiting for the next trip to town for groceries or parts so I can order some chicken fried steak!
Queasy or Sick: No complaints! I found some great stretches to help with lower back pain, and that has made a huge difference!
Have You Started To Show Yet: This is the first week that I asked A.J., “Do you think I’m bigger than our house yet?” And I officially can no longer see my toes 🙂
Belly Button In or Out? We have a confirmed outie! Or as A.J. likes to say, my “full button” is out!
Looking Forward To: Gosh, I don’t even know where to begin… I packed our hospital bag last week, and the entire time I was just so stinking excited! Picking out her little outfits to come home in, and thinking about how adorable she will look makes me happier than a bird with a french fry. As I mentioned earlier, we have decided to go with the Hypnobirthing method as far as our birthing preference, and every time I sit down and read my book or listen to my relaxation tracks I just get giddy thinking about our little girl’s arrival in 2 short months! On that same note, I also realized that we are just NINE Saturdays away from her due date, and I’m pretty sure at least FIVE of those Saturdays will be spent in the field and/or at the elevator. So operation baby prep is in FULL MODE! Baby clothes are washed, nursery progress is happening, and I think we might even be able to get a couple more date nights in before then too!
