Gosh, I think the changes from 3 to 4 months has been the biggest yet! I look at little Addi and feel like she’s all grown up and ready for kindergarten. We met our newest little friend Elli the other day, and I forgot how tiny Addison was as a baby! We’ve jumped over the hump with our colic, and she has been a happy little girl for the most part the last few weeks 🙂 I included our 3 month professional pictures below, and they were a pretty accurate depiction of the first few months… I’m sure we’ll get a good laugh when we look back at them someday!
GROWTH
We haven’t exactly made leaps and bounds here, but according to our scale at home Addi is 12.8 pounds. I can definitely tell that she is getting heavier when I’m lugging around her car seat! Her little face is filling out, and her legs even have a couple of rolls. She’s definitely our little peanut!
EAT
This was a rough month for us. I have struggled with my supply since day one, and then we threw her dairy allergy in on top of it. I was bound and determined from the start that we would breastfeed Addison until she was 1, but I had to accept the fact that it wasn’t going to work for either of us. We started supplementing with formula, and a sweet mama offered her surplus milk to us so we now are supplementing with that, which I am so so grateful for! We’ve started doing our research on baby led weaning as well, and plan to start that as soon as Addi starts sitting up unassisted.
CLOTHES
We’re still in our 0-3 and 3 month clothes. I wish I hadn’t bought so much ahead of time because I think we might be a little off with our seasons at this rate (most of my 6 month clothes are more for winter, but I have a feeling we will be in 6 month clothes this summer). Our wardrobe mainly consists of fleece sleepers (we love these from Carter’s) for daycare, and a few little outfits for special occasions, church, and family outings!
PLAY & DEVELOPMENT
Addi has a HUGE vocabulary (said the first time mom ;). But really, she makes so many coos and really seems like she’s talking to you! She loves watching TV (don’t get your panties in a wad, I don’t let her watch it for hours on end- just long enough to wash the dishes). She is starting to grab for things, most often for Charlie’s ears or stubby tail, but he doesn’t seem to mind. Her little legs are getting stronger (she LOVES standing up), and she is getting better with sitting up with support as well (this baby base from Ingenuity has been a huge help!). I hope we master the sitting up thing shortly because we are getting quite the bald spot on the back of her head!
