It’s 2 AM on the morning of our half birthday, and I can’t stop watching you sleep. Your delicate hands lay softly by your face, and your little breaths make the sweetest little hum. I see you dreaming. Shallow smiles on your little face make my heart beam. I’m dreaming right along with you baby girl.
I want so badly to keep you little, innocent, and safe. But at the same time, I can’t wait to watch you grow into the woman God has planned for you to be. God’s plan for my life has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I’m looking forward to seeing your story unfold.
Never stop dreaming baby girl. Never put limitations on yourself. Never think something is too big for you. Never loose Jesus. And never forget how much we love you! Sweet dreams, my Addi-girl.
GROWTH
We hit a HUGE growth spurt the last couple of weeks. Addi has been eating like crazy, sleeping longer spurts, and filling out her clothes! I can finally consider her legs chubby, and she has the cutest little baby belly. She started out a little slower in the growth department, but she’s making up for it now!
EAT
Addi is guzzling milk like there is no tomorrow! She is eating at least every 3 hours, and doesn’t have any problem polishing off a 5-6 ounce bottle. We are still so very blessed with our donor milk, and I’m keeping up where I can with pumping. I very rarely breast feed her anymore because I know I don’t have enough and will end up giving her a bottle as well. We also had our first ‘real’ try with solid food! I gave her a tiny piece of a hot dog, and we also tried some apple sauce. She wasn’t sure what to think of the apple sauce at first, and I think it might have been a little sour, but she kept wanting more! I’m so excited to try more solids in the coming month!
CLOTHES
I’ve started boxing up our 3 month outfits and pulling out our 6 month clothes. We still fit into 3-6 month sleepers, but anything that is 3 months or smaller doesn’t fit. We got some adorable outfits from Bailey’s Blossoms for our 6 month pictures, and they were so affordable! It is becoming our favorite place to shop 🙂
PLAY & DEVELOPMENT
We have seen so much growth in this area this month! Addi has so many toys, and loves anything with bright colors or that make music. She is almost sitting up on her own (she can sit for a few seconds before tipping over), loves to stand holding mommy or daddy’s hands, and is getting better at tummy time. She has rolled over from back to tummy once, and almost instantly flips to her back when we put her on her tummy. We’ve also started transitioning out of her swaddle sack at night, and it’s going way better than I thought it would! I seriously was mentally preparing myself for like a week to get ready for a struggle, but she is handling it like a champ! We also got our first 2 teeth within 2 days of each other! We’re using an amber teething necklace (we got ours from Amazon) and I do think that is helping with any discomfort. I very rarely have to give her tylenol when she’s wearing the necklace.
