Don’t worry, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth this past week. I was just in Mexico! This past fall we booked a trip with 2 other couples, and we truly had the time of our lives! My husband and I never did any kind of Spring Break trip in college, so this was our excuse to act like a couple of college kids again :).
We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun, and I can’t recommend it enough. It was all inclusive, and included 9 restaurants, 13 bars, and more swimming pools than I can count. Everything was so clean and the staff was very helpful! I didn’t have one single meal that I didn’t enjoy, and there was a huge variety from the buffet to Mexican, Italian, and a Steakhouse. I’m still dreaming about the omelets on the breakfast buffet and the fajitas and french fries by the pool.
The resort was broke into 3 sections- Regular, Hideaway & Diamond Club. We stayed in the Hideaway section (18+ Adult only) and LOVED it. We had our own pool, special activities, and our own section on the beach. My favorite activity at the resort was a foam party that they had in our pool. We danced until our sides hurt!
We left the resort 2 times while we were there. Our first time leaving was for an excursion through the resort to Playa del Carmen to go zip-lining, swimming in a cenote, and four wheeling. I took the chicken lane on the zip-lining, but the cenote and four wheeling was awesome! Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures from the excursion because cameras were not allowed and the picture package was $150, so we decided to just stick with our photographic memories 🙂
On Sunday it was a little cloudy, so we ventured out to Cancun. It was so much fun going to the market and bartering with the vendors. We also grabbed some wings at Hooters and hit up the mall downtown.
The rest of our time was spent bumming at the beach, eating more food than our stomachs could handle, and drinking mojitos. This trip was filled with lots of laughs, a little sunburn, and countless memories.
