This past year has been a year of growth for me. I started my own business, became a mom for the first time, and switched my career path all in a matter of 6 months. Then in March, I had this tugging on my heart to really dig deep and find my purpose. I wanted to serve in some way- give back to my readers & followers on social media, but also find my mission field through the internet. So I decided to start a virtual bible study for moms. I really didn’t know what I was getting myself in to, and I highly doubted that more than 3 people would join- but I knew it was something I needed to do.
Much to my disbelief, 90 women joined my group. And every week for 12 weeks, I met with 10-20 of them over a video chat to discuss our bible study- Why Motherhood Matters (haven’t read it? Find it HERE– it’s a MUST read!). We talked about raising the next generation, being purposeful in our parenting. We shared our joys and our struggles. Finally, for our last night of meeting, we were joined by the author herself, September McCarthy, for a Q&A session. Through all of this, my desire for being a stay at home mom grew, and I talked with so many others in the group who felt the same way. Which brought me to my new mission field.
As soon as we wrapped up our bible study in June- I decided I needed to share my social media management business with other moms. I had messages flooding my inbox from businesses looking for a social media manager, but I simply did not have room in my schedule to take on more. On the other side of things, I had so many conversations with other moms who simply wanted the option to stay at home with their babies, but also contribute finanically to their family. So I decided to do something about it.
I created Work From Home Mama- a community for moms who wanted or needed to work from home. And that very day I started working on creating a course to teach other moms how to do exactly what I had done a year before, and start their own social media management business. I’ve spent the last 3 months pouring my heart and soul into this course, with mustard seed faith that it would reach hundreds of mamas just like me who wanted more for their family. I thought to myself- even if this just helps one mom, it will all be worth it. But once again- God had an even bigger plan. In less than 1 month- our waitlist has filled 3 times past the limit we originally set- and I am so excited for the possibilites for each and every one of them!
